Rob tries to look busy

Back to the Developer List

As the team manager and Linux kernel and device driver software engineer, author and hardware engineering wanna be, Rob tries to keep busy as MyLinux PLW Project Director. His daily energies are utilized in interfacing business customers, sponsors, vendors, company marketing efforts and ensuring that the project simply stays on track.

Rob likes to interface the human component of every project by getting people actively engaged in productivity-oriented roles and he is primarily responsible for coming up with slick-sounding phrases like "productivity-oriented roles."

Rob's passion is playing chess. He and Dave spend many lunch hours (or so!) battling it out over an 8x8 matrix of alternating light and dark squares. He loves Chinese chess, too and plays Dr. Yong, Tom Yu (Hitachi) and Ted Gao (Hitachi) whenever possible.

On Friday nights, Rob likes to join Shane out at the local drag race tracks where he tries to keep his 1968 Supercharged 427 Camaro going mostly straight. His newest idea for making more traction is making less horsepower! You can understand why, with such sound reasoning as that, why we have him at the helm!

Rob has been actively involved with Linux since 1992. In 1995 he submitted a Great White Shark Logo back when there was a quest to find a cool Linux Logo.
